Mission:
Our mission is to enhance the social, economic, emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being of everyone, particularly those in Afro communities. We actively work to minimize the (socio-economic) gap between Afro communities and individuals in the Netherlands without a migration background. Additionally, we strive to strengthen the connection between various Afro communities. We pursue human dignity and respect for every individual.
Vision:
We believe in a society without exclusion where everyone, regardless of their background, has equal opportunities. The traces of 300 years of transatlantic slave trade are still visible and palpable in society. Institutional racism is pervasive and must be continuously combated.
We observe the growing gap between Afro communities and non-Afro communities, which we find concerning. There is a need for initiatives that specifically target the improvement of the social, economic, emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being of Afro Dutch individuals to promote connection and bridge the gap.
We believe that enhancing the well-being of Afro communities doesn't have to come at the expense of the well-being of those without a migration background; one doesn't need to exclude the other. Improving the well-being of Afro communities will lead to the realization of the full potential of a vastly underutilized source of talent and experiential knowledge. Additionally, other marginalized groups will benefit due to the intersectionality of racism and all other forms of discrimination.
